Structural Complexity --	functional organization record keeping, bureaucracy ancillary organizations geographical organization international linkage
Locus of Power --	selecting leaders, candidates making policy raising, allocating resources administering discipline patronage external groups intraparty democracy
Leadership --	leadership composition leaders' incentives leaders' activities
Membership --	membership composition membership incentives membership activities
Coherence --	party factionalism legislative cohesion
